Supporting Guardians in an Evolving Justice Landscape

As the newest U.S. military branch, the Space Force operates under the UCMJ but relies heavily on Air Force investigative systems, legal procedures, and administrative frameworks. This creates unique challenges for Guardians navigating allegations, command scrutiny, and evaluation-based decisions that influence promotion, assignment, and access to sensitive roles.

Military Justice Attorneys (MJA), a team of former Judge advocates, defends Guardians worldwide by delivering disciplined, evidence-driven representation tailored to a technical, mission-critical force responsible for global space operations.

What Space Force Defense Includes

Space Force Defense encompasses representation for Guardians facing criminal allegations, nonjudicial punishment, OSI investigations, adverse evaluations, command inquiries, titling decisions, and post-trial appellate matters. These actions may arise from on-duty incidents, digital communications, workplace conflict, leadership concerns, or off-base events.

Because the Space Force relies on Air Force legal infrastructure, including OSI, Article 15 procedures, evaluation formats, and command investigations, effective representation requires deep familiarity with both systems.

The Benefits of Working With a Military Defense Attorney for Space Force Cases

  • Understanding the Combined Space Force–Air Force Legal Framework. Guardians operate within a unique hybrid of newly established policies and existing Air Force procedures. Skilled counsel ensures legal strategies account for both systems’ expectations and investigative standards.
  • Defense That Anticipates Collateral Career Impact. Space operations demand high clearances and impeccable records. We identify risks early and protect qualifications, billets, and advancement opportunities essential for long-term career success.
  • Comprehensive Guidance Through Rapidly Developing Policies. As Space Force regulations evolve, Guardians benefit from experienced counsel capable of interpreting new guidance and protecting against misapplications or procedural errors.
  • Integrated Support Across Criminal, Administrative, and Investigative Actions. Many cases involve overlapping OSI inquiries, command decisions, and evaluation consequences. We coordinate all aspects to safeguard your standing.

Space Force Defense Practice Areas

Below is an overview of the legal services provided to Guardians. Each will receive its own dedicated page, but this summary outlines MJA’s support across the Space Force.

Court-Martial Defense

Guardians facing UCMJ charges may experience significant mission and clearance consequences. We challenge evidence, protect rights, and develop trial strategies that address both immediate risks and long-term professional impact.

Article 15 Defense

Nonjudicial punishment decisions can affect rank, evaluations, and special duty opportunities. We help Guardians understand their rights, contest inaccurate allegations, and present persuasive rebuttals to protect their record.

OSI Investigation Defense

OSI inquiries often begin before a Guardian realizes they are a subject. We guide clients through questioning, digital evidence issues, witness interactions, and investigative procedures to prevent harmful assumptions or misinterpretations.

Court-Martial Appeals

Appellate representation ensures legal errors, improper rulings, ineffective assistance, and unsupported findings are challenged. Appeals can secure new trials, reduced sentences, or corrections to the military record.

Adverse Evaluation Appeals

Guardians may receive evaluations affected by personality conflicts, misunderstandings, or incomplete information. We challenge inaccurate reports and seek correction to protect long-term career progression.

Command Investigation Appeals / Rebuttals

Command inquiries often shape leadership perceptions and administrative decisions. We review findings, expose errors, provide missing context, and prepare rebuttals or appeals that prevent flawed conclusions from becoming permanent.

OSI Titling Appeals

OSI titling can affect background checks, clearance decisions, and civilian employment. We challenge titling decisions that relied on insufficient or inaccurate evidence, seeking removal or correction when the record is unjust.

Best UCMJ Attorney Ever

Mr. Hodge is an amazing att...

Mr. Hodge is an amazing attorney and I would hands down, recommend him to anyone in the service or who served prior who needs legal assistance regarding a UCMJ matter. When I initially found myself in a difficult situation while serving on Active Duty, I called and interviewed several legal firms specializing in UCMJ cases. No other law office was as proactive as he was. Specifically, as soon as I hired him, day one, he and his team drafted up several documents immediately to defend me in my current situation. At this point in time, I was advised that I would likely go to an Administrative Discharge Board and he was the only attorney that was willing to go on the offensive and submit documentation immediately whereas every other law firm essentially said we would have to wait until the future incumbent board for their assistance. Fast forward to present day and Mr. Hodge and his team successfully fought and prevented the Administrative Discharge Board from ever taking place. I am still working on Active Duty and I continue to work with him as he aids me in submitting an Administrative Board of Corrections of Military Records (AFBCMR) for rescinding a wrongful LOR, Demotion, and Referral EPR. No one cares more about your career than yourself and Mr. Hodge truly encompasses that mindset to ensure you receive the best outcome possible, should you find yourself in a compromising situation. He has been amazing for my family and I through this difficult time and he can be the shield you need in these difficult times. Thank you Mr. Hodge!
